Gomoku: Five Stones in a Row is a strategic board game designed for two participants. On a square board measuring 19×19 (in the classic variation) or 15×15 (in the contemporary sports variant) points, players take turns placing stones of two distinct colors. The victor is the one who first creates an unbroken line of five stones of their color vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. It offers numerous variations, differing in specific aspects of the rules. The game is thought to have originated in China over two millennia ago. Presently, it is recognized globally; sports competitions based on it are conducted.
